The National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics is pleased to announce that will host a Meeting of the National Ethics Councils (NECs) and Chairs of the European Group on Ethics and New Technologies (EGE) on 12-13 December 2024 in Athens, Greece (Amphitheater I. Drakopoulos, Main Building, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Propylaia, Panepistimiou St. 30). The Meeting will be co-organised by the National Commission for Bioethics & Technoethics and the Ethics and Research Integrity Sector of the European Commission.

The main purpose of the meeting is to discuss the ethical challenges in policy and the role of NECs can play in this context, as well as to identify best practices and experiences to increase the policy impact of NECs.

The meeting is organised in person mode and by invitation only to the chair/president (or designated delegate) of NECs from the 27 countries of the European Union and the chair/representative of the EGE.
