The scientific officers are responsible for drafting the Commission’s Opinions, Reports, and Recommendations, as well as conducting research on specific issues assigned by the Commission. In addition, they supervise and coordinate the Commission’s e-journal Bioethica and its monthly newsletter, and represent, upon invitation, the Commission in national and international fora relevant to bioethics and technoethics.

The Secretariat of the Commission (Presidential Decree 63/2025 "Personnel, organizational structure of the Secretariat, and technical support of the National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics") operates as an independent organizational unit at the level of a Department.
In addition to providing secretarial support to the Commission, the Secretariat is primarily responsible for disseminating its advisory work (Opinions/Recommendations) to the competent institutional bodies in accordance with its founding law, as well as to the scientific community both domestically and abroad. At the same time, the Secretariat contributes to the formulation and implementation of the Commission's communication policy with public bodies, individuals, and organizations abroad (competent EU bodies). In addition, it handles press inquiries and requests for statements or interviews from its chair, members, or scientific officers, oversees the publication and dissemination of the annual activity report at the beginning of each year, organizes scientific events, conferences, training seminars, and nationwide student competitions, ensures that social media are updated with the Commission’s activities, and, in general, is responsible for ensuring its proper operation in accordance with its Rules of Procedure.
