Participation in the 36th NEC Forum, Nicosia, 23-24 April 2026

The National Commission for Bioethics and Technoethics participated in the 36th National Ethics Councils Forum (NEC Forum), with main subject: “Ethics and Values in a rapidly changing world”. The meeting took place in Nicosia, in 23-24 April 2026, under the Cypriot Presidency of the European Union for the first half of 2026. The Commission was represented by Professor Emeritus Christos Lionis, who gave a speech on the topic: "Ethics on preparedness: a focus on vulnerability"

The meeting culminated in the drafting of a joint Statement entitled "Towards a Sovereign European Union of Values and Trustworthy Innovation".



Stage

The Commission offers to students, mostly postgraduates, both from human and life sciences the Possibility of training on issues related to bioethics and technoethics.
