Advances in Human Genome Editing

The Hellenic National Bioethics Commission dealt with the ethical issues raised by the new genome editing technologies. This has been occasioned by the announcements about the new CRISPR/Cas9 technology which facilitates genome modification in various organisms, including human. Thus, although the above-mentioned method can be applied to all species, the present Opinion focuses on gene editing in humans.
